Dean's Hommage to Lee Hazlewood

Dean (Wareham) of Luna and Dean & Britta (Phillips) comments about his love for & influence by the work of Lee Hazlewood -- "an American treasure" -- who died last week at age 79.

Hazlewood_sinatra_200 Lee Hazlewood -- great writer and funny man, a Texan-Swede -- is recognized as the impresario (writer, producer and sometimes singer) of the song "These Boots Were Made for Walkin'," popularized by Nancy Sinatra. (The very best Hazelwood tune, though, is "Some Velvet Morning"...add it now to your iTunes library.)

Hazlewood will also be (eventually) immortalized for his pioneering production of a good swath of the Duane Eddy catalog in the 1950's.

Lee Hazlewood is the guy who taught Phil Spector where to place the microphones.

Lee had a 165-pound Great Dane bitch named "Trouble".
